Bumper Cars...

I forgot how FUN those were.. Until this afternoon when I was convinced to give it a shot...highly recommended.. great way to release stress of daily life . I spent the better part of this afternoon at "Fantasy Land" attending Jack's 5th Birthday Party... There he is on the carousel.

A Perfect Summer Weekend!

Weekends.. They always end too soon.. even the long ones! The weather was wonderful (its about time) with temps in the 80's.. On sat. my friend, Karen & I took the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard for the day. It was a very nice (but long) day. We chose to take the traditional ferry rather than the high speed one because of the price... SO we had a 2 hour boat ride in each direction.. It was not bad though. We left New Bedford at 8:00AM and arrived in Oak Bluffs at 10:00 AM. The one problem with the traditional ferry is the schedule.. we would not be ready to leave the Island at 3:30PM..And the next ferry wasn't until 8:30PM..needless to say, we arrived back in New Bedford at 10:30pm (very tired. It was a great day though & I wouldn't have changed a thing!
Today. after waking up unusually early for me.. Especially for a Sunday (you would think that I would have slept in after the day trip to the Vineyard..) I went to the BEACH (yeah!!!) with my friends Danielle & Kathie, Danielle's son, Jack, Kathie's Son, Sammy & Sammy's cousin, Amber. We went to Demarest Lloyd State Park in Dartmouth, MA. It is a great beach for kids because it's small & the water is very shallow. We stayed at the beach for about 3 hours.. which was plenty of sun & sand for the boys (as well at the teenager & the adults). Later in the afternoon, after I went food shopping, I made some cards (one of my hobbies). I have decided that I will scan & upload the cards I make for swaps so I will have record of them. They will be posted on my Flickr page for anyone interested (click "My Photos" link.. As well at pictures from Martha's Vineyard & Demarest Lloyd. Well. I suppose it is time to get ready for bed & deal w/ the inevitable rapidly approaching.. Dreaded MONDAY MORNING.

A Great Find!

While on the hunt for a backpack to use on a day trip tomorrow, I came upon a a treasure (in my eyes anyway) In a plastic storage tote.. hidden under some smaller plastic storage totes ( ok.. ok.. my dirty secret is out....I moved here 8 months ago and I am not completely unpacked...) I found a whole lot of pictures that I have not added to my scrapbook..Actually to tell you the truth I was unaware that the pics were missing until I found them.. OOPS! Anyway.. I was very glad to see them because one of the envelopes contained a small assortment of some of my very favorite pictures.. which of course I scanned & uploaded to share them! : )

There they go again...

Never a dull moment when you live half a block a way from a fire station. Both engines just went racing down the street with lights & sirens blaring.. I hope it's not something tragic like a house fire..I hear there was one over the weekend that took the lives of a mother & her two children. It's just so sad. Oh good.. Both of the firetrucks just came back up the street.. guess it was nothing after all (this time). Speaking of sad... My good friend, Kristen, got some very bad news today... one of her sisters has been diagnosed with breast cancer. We have lunch together & she found out just before our lunch break... Not the best 30 minutes of my day.. I just felt awful for her & her family.. But what do you say.. what can you say??

Hello there...

Hello..
Welcome to my little corner of the web... Just a little place for my thoughts & what-nots (is that even a word?.. does it matter if it is a word.. this is MY space.. I can make up my own words!)
Oh well.. Whatever!
